Within days of the start of the Iran War on 28th February 2026, headlines appeared in newspapers claiming that ‘US troops were told war on Iran was “all part of God’s divine plan”’ and that the Battle of Armageddon and the return of Jesus Christ were imminent. Where were these ideas coming from?
